After the remnants of disturbances, Geosphere Austria expects some sunshine throughout the week. By mid-week, temperatures could reach up to 20 degrees in large parts of Austria.
Clouds will predominate in large parts of the country on Monday. Initially, it will only rain a little in places in the mountains, but precipitation will become more frequent in the western half of Austria as the day progresses. The snow line is 1,200 to 1,800 meters above sea level. It will remain largely dry in the east. The wind will be light. Early temperatures are forecast to be between zero and seven degrees, with daytime highs of nine to 14 degrees.
On Tuesday, sunny weather will quickly prevail in the west and north-east. Residual clouds will persist more in Salzburg, Upper Austria, Carinthia and Styria. It will only clear up a little more frequently in the afternoon, and a few rain or snow showers will still pass through. Snow line from east to west between 800 meters and 1,500 meters above sea level. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from north-west to east. Early temperatures are minus one to plus six degrees, and daytime highs are mostly between eight and 17 degrees, with higher values in the west.
Up to 20 degrees
Intermediate high pressure will ensure plenty of sunshine in most parts of the country on Wednesday in the middle of the week. Thin, high cloud fields adorning the sky during the day or early morning fog, which will clear everywhere during the morning, will hardly be a problem. Individual cumulus clouds may also form over the Alpine peaks during the afternoon. However, the tendency to shower will generally remain low. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from east to south. Geosphere Austria expects early morning temperatures between minus four and plus three degrees and daytime highs between nine and 20 degrees from northeast to west.
While dense clouds will predominate in the west of Austria on Thursday morning, the sun will continue to shine in the east and southeast. In the afternoon, however, the clouds will thicken here too. Rain and showers can be expected from Vorarlberg via Tyrol and Salzburg to the eastern lowlands and the eastern edge of the Alps by the evening. Meanwhile, the clouds will clear again from Lake Constance. The wind will blow from the southeast to the west and be weak to moderate. It will be minus two to plus six degrees in the morning and eleven to 19 degrees during the day, with the warmest temperatures in the west.
Austria will be under the influence of a disturbance on Friday, bringing many clouds. There will be little sunshine overall, often south of the main Alpine ridge. With the clouds, the first raindrops or rain showers are expected in the Alpine Peaks area as early as the morning. During the afternoon, the precipitation will also spread to the northern and eastern parts of the country. The snow line will be around 2,000 meters above sea level. The wind will blow from the southeast to the west and will be moderate at times from Upper Austria eastwards. Early morning temperatures will be between two and twelve degrees, and daytime highs will be between twelve and 20 degrees.
